wake up. RUN! awake. Get up now! They're coming. Wake. Up!
Virgil shot up from his sleep, the voices echoing through his dreams woke up rather abruptly. Wait, everything is dark now. The life had left the forest, no sound, no energy. Dark and asleep.
"Dammit!"
He had overslept. Pushing himself up off the ground and away from the tree that he had decided to nap next to during the day, he brushed himself down from all the leaves and dust. Then, Virgil bent down to pick up the tome he used as a pillow. Although it didn't speak, he knew the magic inside was not happy with being used as a head rest.
But now was not the time to dilly dally around. The voice of the Sacred Tree had awoken him, warning him of something, a danger perhaps? The fairy glanced around, seeing things at a much better perspective in his human form. As far as he could see, there was no impending doom headed his way, what was the voice talking about?
...
"AWOOOOOO!"
...
"Shit."
Virgil instantly took off, the tome under his arm as he started leaping over giant tree roots and ducking under low hanging branches. He'd occasionally fly, but it was far too risky to do so in this dark lighting in case he flew into something.
Snarls and growls were beginning to grow louder, the sounds of the wolves feet crunching against the leaves rung in his ears like a piercing shriek. They were bloody fast. But he hated attacking wild life, especially since he was the one foolish enough to fall asleep in their territory. The only was he'd defend himself is if it was his life on the line - right now, there was a chance he could escape.
Or so he thought.
A large grey wolf leaped out from the trees in front of him, halting him in his tracks. Then there was another, then another until he was surrounded by a pack of 10. Sighing, he'd raise his free hand up to his earring, ready to get him out of this sticky situation.

{ } Pietro was a man of whims these days, much more mellow than any other time of his life. The fighting was at an all time low and he didn't really need to show anyone his might. Taking an 'off' day of sorts he had asked Theo if he would show him around the Fairy King's Forest as it was one of the few places he had never explored. Part of it was his sense of direction, it was tragically awful. Another problem, was that he didn't know how a Fairy would react to a Vampire roaming around their country, his kind didn't have the greatest reputation. Not that it mattered. If anyone had any problem with Pietro, they would find the burden of their existence lifted almost immediately. He could be a violent man, too proud to back down from any conflict. But when he had Theo with him, he tended to calm down his tendencies enough to make the man rather 'harmless'."It's so boring here. Isn't there anything exciting around?" he asked his guide, petulance and irritation growing slightly.
As if on beautiful cue, the sharp howls of several wolves pierced through the air like a volley of arrows. Dark emerald eyes now lit with the prospect of mischief, his legs started moving far before his brain even sent the message.
"Better keep up, Theo!" he managed to scream.Launching himself onto a branch he swung himself like a pro acrobat, and landed on one several feet away. Tree to tree, it was a matter of time before he stumbled upon a boy surrounded by them. Grinning in full blossom, he recalled his greatest dream. His magic, not exactly invisible though a very light azure, began whirling in his hands. Forming a sphere, the size of a globe, he would lick his lips before launching them at a few of the wolves. Sadistic as always, he jumped in next to the kid as his technique tore into them and leaving simply piles of limbs. His wind didn't get all of them though, he wanted to play a little more.
Suddenly remembering, he turned and looked at the boy. Assessing him, it was clear that he was a Fairy. He had his hand to his ear, which was odd, but didn't seem aggressive aside from that. In fact...he seemed a bit groggy?

Boredom. That was all Theo felt right now. He floated above Pietro, a short distance, as they went through the forest. He was on his back, watching the stars, the best he could through the thick trees. Some things seemed to be going on but he couldn't be bothered to pay much attention. He twirled Volley, his sacred weapon, on the tip of his fingers. If he was needed, he would act in an instant, but right now he was sure Pietro could handle himself.
He turned himself upright after hearing the sounds of something familiar. Wolves. Something about this sound haunted him, as he shifted Volley into its naginata form, ready to attack should one attack him. He completely ignored Pietros call for him to keep up, as he was just above him, he was keeping up just fine. The naginata swirled around him, swiftly, cutting things that had come to close to him. A few wolves had seemed to think Theo was a nice treat, due to his size or something, but he made sure they would regret trying to attack him.
He blinked a few times as the wolves vanished, nothing more was left of them other than limbs, and puddles of blood. He shivered, but didn't let the thought bother him much. He noticed someone was there, who seemed to have been running away from the wolves or something. A fairy. He was a fairy, just like Theo was. Theo hadn't seen any fairies other than himself in, many many years. Why was one here now?
"You're...a fairy" He said, his face looking pale. He started to get a few headaches but didn't react to them, as they had other things to worry about. What was a fairy doing out here? And alone. He would let Pietro know about his headaches after things were ok. He twirled his hand around and the naginata turned back into that of an orb. He didn't get to do much with it, as it was really only cutting limbs and trees so they wouldn't get in the way, so it didn't take of much of his energy.

Nope. He wouldn’t need to do anything violent today. Instead, wind of unnatural forces came whipping down from the sky, slicing through the wolves around him and tearing them apart until their lifeless corpses formed a cute little ring around him. The strange gusts whipped around him, blowing his hair in his face and making the hairs on his skin stand up on end.
Standing just a couple of feet away from him was a man with a rather quirky hairdo. He appeared to be rather amused, if not excited by all this. Virgil sighed, why oh why did people have to find the brutality in all things? But now was not the time to show his true colours, instead, the damsel in distress would be a perfect fitting.
“Oh thank you so much!”
Virgil sighed with relief, walking a little closer to the man acting like a scared child seeking a parent for assurance, what better way to act weak and pathetic than to rely on someone elses strength? It saved him having to use up his energy. There was also another person who had arrived at the scene, floating in the air watching them from above. Virgil would assume he was a fairy, but in this darkness it was hard to tell.
But he couldn’t focus on the people for too long, they were surrounded by savage creatures who were looking for a bite to eat.
“Ah! Please don’t let them hurt me!”
Virgil was almost touching the stranger who had killed some of the wolves, a few of the pack remaining as they snarled and bared their sharp white fangs. A few of them jumped forwards, but Virgil would simply stand there huddled up. He was pretty certain he was in safe hands around these people.

{ } Now, normally Pietro was reasonably prideful. He was an arrogant jerk that you had to have on your side. And once you did he might, just for a little, start displaying kinder tendencies than normal. However, once his ego has gotten the slightest touch from someone his pride flares and he can't help but lose control. Even if his true Pride, Theo, was with him it was just his very nature to go wild.
Licking his lips sadistically as more wolves moved in, his fangs accidentally slipped out. Even though the Fairy had just thanked them, he forgot he was there for a moment or even that he should've been more wary about them.
Glancing at him, his expression morphed for a fraction of a second. It was warm, tender a look that was conveying his thoughts to the other.
"I'll protect you." and without a second thought, he reached into the rough, burlap sack he kept on his back. Grunting a bit, he would retrieve a piece of castle wall debris the size of a softball.
The very same azure wind that tore the wolves before would whirl around the rock before becoming trapped inside of it. Theo would know what to do once he saw him reach for the debris, but the other Fairy would be clueless. It would be troublesome if he got caught up in it, right?
Tilting his head he looked around before he found his ally. He had a strange, pained look on his face and was staring at the other Fairy. No...it couldn't be his amnesia. Things were progressing oddly, and it was making him itch to simplify the problem.
Picking up the Fairy in one arm, he would toss the stone filled with compressed air down to the wolves. He had chosen a smaller piece, but the explosion was still magnificent. If his first technique was gory then this...this was simply disgusting as the blood smeared the trees.
Tossing him to a branch, he would appear next to Theo next.
"What is it?"
{Spoiler}Techniques Used Asshuku Shuryūdan (Compression Grenade) Rarity: Epic Mana Cost: 80 Type: Offensive Range: 20 meters Description: One of his more deadlier techniques, he takes compression to a whole new level. Taking a hint of inspiration, he originally devised this technique in the middle of a fight. Taking a piece of broken castle wall, he trapped air molecules inside of the stone and compressed it to a frightening stage. When it comes into contact with something, whether it be a person or the ground, it will detonate like a terrifying grenade with an area of 20 meters. Anything in range will be hit with extreme concussive force as well as being blown back.

Something seemed, off, about this guy, but Theo couldn't place his finger on it. Before he could react, more wolves had surrounded the three of them. His head, hurting again, this time not being able to hide it so well. He winced in pain and floated down to the ground, landing in between Pietro and the boy they had come across. Something was strange, but he didn't let the thought get to him, as they had just met him, he could just be paranoid.
The other fairy had asked not to let the wolves hurt him, at least that’s what Theo understood from what he had said, since the wolves were the only things out there to hurt them. Theo looked over and Pietro seemed to be going wild, or want to go wild. He noticed, for an instant, that Pietros expression had softened, like he was going to protect them for sure.
In an instant, a wind tore the wolves apart before, swirled around a rock, and seemed to become trapped in it. Theo did know what to do but his head was starting to cause him some problems again, causing him to wince in pain. Before he knew it, he had tossed the rock down to the wolves, which had caused an explosion, one that was magnificent. Pietro would be happy about that. Next thing he knew, Pietro had picked him up in one arm, and tossed him to a branch, now appearing next to him. He seemed worried, very worried. Theo wasn't really sure, sometimes he wasn't able to understand Pietros emotions.
"My memories, they're fuzzy still, but that fairy, it's the first time I've seen one besides myself" He said quietly. "It's just brought back some memories. I'll have to write them down in the journal when we go back to the hideout" He glanced around, noticing there was no sign of the wolves. "What are we going to do about the other fairy though?" He asked, trying to change the subject.Don't ever do that again! // @tag: N/A // 337 words // |

Virgil watched as a dazzling wind whipped around the man’s hands, enveloping the chunk of rock he seemed to be carrying around with him. Then, out of the blue, the other young man came flying down towards them, was he injured? Virgil had to quickly step back away from the redhead before the other one landed on him. What was going on?
The next scene to unfurl was somewhat brutal and painful. The rock was thrown forwards towards the wolves not too far from where they were standing. Then the orange haired person was thrown towards a branch before the other appeared next to him.
What about Virgil?!
Absolutely clueless as to what this rock was capable of, Virgil knew no better than to just stand there where he originally was. The rock has shattered, exploding like a grenade in a mixture of air, shrapnel and wolf blood. Small chunks of the rock had sliced straight into Virgil’s own body, impaling his legs, arms and chest. Even the sheer force of the explosion knocked him back a bit, sending him skidding across the ground.
Virgil instantly started crying out in pain, blood soaked across his body and his ears ringing from the blast. Why did nobody warn him of what was to come? The fairy clutched his chest, looking down to see golf ball sized shards of rock sticking out of his flesh.
His screams continued to echo through the night, any more blood loss and he’d soon pass out, if not worse.
