Character Ranks

Every character is ranked by their power, no matter if they are a Holy Knight established in a Kingdom, or a Demon in the King's army. As you rise through the rankings you'll gain access to higher tiered abilities, weapons, items, and much more! Your rank also establishes what missions you can take, how much mana you contain, and also what organizations they can join.

1. Apprentice Rank (0 - 300 EXP)
   
   Those who are Holy Knights in-training are in this rank. They are considered fledglings, needing guidance before they can be sent off on their own. They are given very low quality weapons and armor to start with, as well as a rudimentary control over their newly birthed magic. They are truly neophytes.
   
   
2. Crystal Rank (300 - 700 EXP)
   
   Those of Crystal rank have proven themselves to be worthy of the title of Holy Knights, though only in that. While it is true that they have blooming power, their naivety and their inexperience is all too visible to their superiors. They have a long way to go, and much training before they can be considered a true Holy Knight.
   
   
3. Emerald Rank (700 - 1000 EXP)
   
   The step between a Crystal ranked Holy Knight and an Emerald ranked Knight is like the difference between sand and glass. An Emerald Knight has polished their skills and, though still green, they have a more refined aspect to their skill. It is also at this rank that Human Knights are able to take on a third magic. Mages will be able to take their fourth. It is also at this rank that most organizations begin recruiting for membership.
   
   
4. Ruby Rank (1000 - 1500 EXP)
   
   If the gap between Crystal and Emerald is like sand and glass, the gap between Emerald and Ruby can only be described as a chasm reaching across a country. Their growing power has been further advanced to a state in which they have entered a new echelon from those at the lower ranks. The Ruby Knights have not only proven their worth, might, and usefulness but they've also shown their dedication to the Kingdom. It is also at this rank that Human Knights may take the chance and hunt a demon in order to consume it's blood and possibly become a Reactor.
   
   
5. Sapphire Rank (1500 - 2000 EXP)
   
   The Holy Knights entering the Sapphire Rank are leagues even above the Ruby Knights who have just entered the same 'tier' as they exist. A Holy Knight is supposed to be someone who is as strong as an army themselves, worth a thousand or more soldiers. Though Crystal ranks may be capable of such feats, it would take far more energy and possibly brushes with death. Whereas a Sapphire rank Holy Knight is capable of the same with almost frightening ease. 
   
   
6. Platinum Rank (2000 - 2500 EXP)
   
   Attaining great power and then focusing and purified it to an incredibly powerful point, a Holy Knight has now established themselves as a seasoned fighter and soldier for your kingdom, whispers of renown beginning to rustle. The journey has been long and arduous, but the result and fruits of labor have certainly been enjoyed after becoming so incredibly ripened. Platinum rank Holy Knights have devastating strength, a true one man army able to protect or destroy cities in their wake, almost on a whim.
   
   
7. Diamond Rank (2500 - 3000 EXP)
   
   The Diamond Rank is aptly named, Apprentices were the gems that continued to get polished and cleaned. Literally a 'diamond in the rough', they now command overwhelming power. Their power is pivotal in a battle, their Kingdom being blessed simply by their presence. Word of your achievements has surely begin to spread to at least one other kingdom by now. Your Kingdom can use you as a solitary protector or destroyer, they are a game changer in any battle or any event and usually command total respect and awe.
   
   
8. Cardinal Rank (3000 - 4000 EXP)
   
   Holy Knights who have climbed through the ranks, finally ending up as a Cardinal, have gained and trained gargantuan power. At this point, the only person they answer to is the Great Holy Knight, or Great Holy Knights. Their wrath can cause mass destruction, or be a shining beacon of justice & goodness to inspire those in their city.  Any who dare oppose someone of this rank must be aware of the morbid consequences.
   
   
9. Great Holy Knight ( X )
   
   Among all the Holy Knights in the Kingdom, very few shine more than others simply due to their sheer power. The crème de la crème of those around them, one or two Knights assume control of the other Holy Knights and, basically, the Kingdom. They are the ones who defend against war, make sure there is plenty of food, and assign Knights on missions, etc. To become a Great Holy Knight, you must apply rather than have a certain amount of EXP.

Currency Information

I. What currency is used & how is it obtained?

Here at Chains of the Past, we use a simplistic currency: Gold Coins. These coins are used for a myriad of purposes. First and foremost, they are used for buying weapons, armor, and other miscellaneous items for use in and out of battle. These coins are also used for upgrades, an organization to establish their own castle, etc.

These Gold Coins can also be attained in a multitude of ways, such as: each and every post completed gives currency from the board, at the end of a thread it will be graded by story and quality of writing and given rewards of EXP and Gold Coins, similarly mission threads will also give rewards at the end in addition to the priors. 

The last method of obtaining Gold Coins is by accomplishing a Feat. These are very specialized missions which, depending on rank, can send in multiple challenges. These journeys often include choices, and specialized enemies. Though usually difficult the payoff is incredible, with players able to loot the corpses of the enemies killed and gain their items and money.
