a century of tension
The Goddess clan were the original beings on Britannia, led by their Valkyrie Queen they led a peaceful existence surviving off of the beautiful land. Their clan was small but they were happy, yet alone. They let this problem hang in the air for a hundred years but, finally, they knew they needed to do something. Gathering all of their power, they gave birth to the Sacred Tree. A Companion who could only communicate with someone of their blood, it gave birth to it's own children - the Fairy clan. These beings were a surprise, as the tree and the Goddess' were very large in size, yet the children were so small but could flit around fitting their names.
It should have been obvious to them at the time, they just simply overlooked it in blissful ignorance, but the overwhelming amount of positive, 'good' energy in the world was too much. The universe needed balance and found it in the form of the Demons. The first one, the Demon King, created the rest of his children in a terrifyingly large bulk. For a while, even this was still 'peace' as they each stood on their side of the world.
And yet, some of the world couldn't be fulfilled even with this. Some desired more, they desired love. A Goddess and a Demon eventually met under secret pretenses and fell in love with one another. It went on in secret for years, until the woman became pregnant. It was a strange condition, as it was unprecedented, and as she grew everyone questioned if she was okay. She had a slight understanding as to what was going on, feeling the two heartbeats within her, though she kept quite as to not seal the fate of the Demons.
Until the day she gave birth to her to twins, each of a new, different race. The first child was much like the Goddess' themselves, though lacking wings he would become the very first Giant. The next child was several times smaller, more nutrition being given to her brother it would be the very first human woman. From this point, she had to inform the Valkyrie Queen of what had transpired as everything was too much of a mystery.
The Queen forbade it, though they would raise and love the children anyway. Yet, that wouldn't stop the secret romances completely. Several of the Demon and Goddess clan began to intermingle and create these two new races and it all became too much. The 'hybrds' were deemed to be exiled, forcibly, and sent to scour Britannia and create their own homes. This, combined with the growing hunger and malice of the King, was enough for him to create his guard of warriors. His Ten Commandments, his supreme warriors and defenders, as well as his children.
The Goddess' clan combated their elite forces with the Four Great Angels, and thus started the very first Holy War. The Humans, now grown into capable warriors with their weapons, wits, and magic, aided their mothers despite the bad blood. The ones who couldn't accept this, actually chose to join the Demons and were blessed with a new power, giving birth to another race - the troublesome Vampires. War was looming and even the Giants and the Fairies joined the Allied Forces in the Holy War.
There were massacres on both sides, and though the Demon clan lost they weren't decimated and were able to retreat. The Four Great Angels had been reduced to one, and casualties strung out through the land. The Goddess' decided to leave their current settlement in exchange for their own castle in the clouds.
The Fairy clan repopulated and remained with the Sacred Tree, while the Giants created their home of Megadozer. Before they left, the Goddess' gifted a few of the Humans with their own powers, marking them as Druids, who could use some of their abilities as well summon them should the worst scenario arise.
The Vampire clan was punished and exiled to roam the Earth, never claiming a place in any of the Kingdoms. The Humans spread out through the kingdoms, with some Giants living intermingled. They live in relative peace, even reaching out and inviting the Fairy clan, though they are cautious of their brethren.
A thousand years has passed, and some chains are bound too tightly to let go. The Demons haven't forgiven their defeat, and even now in their Underground City of Hades they are plotting. Their lower classes, the blue, red, and even gray still roam Britannia but they are nothing compared to the onslaught of the Demon King when his full power returns. Who will you side with?
